Roles & Responsibilities
As Account Director, you'll take full ownership of new business development and long-term account growth, building strategic relationships with mid-market and enterprise clients and driving revenue through the sale of IT hardware, software, licensing, and technology solutions.
Take ownership of new and existing accounts, introducing the full portfolio of hardware, software, licensing, cybersecurity products, cloud technology, and workplace solutions.
Own the full sales cycle from identifying and landing new logo clients through to expanding and developing long-term strategic customer relationships.
Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned to customer requirements, purchasing cycles, and commercial objectives, driving consistent revenue growth.
Collaborate with internal sales teams, procurement, technical specialists, marketing, and vendor partners to position competitive technology solutions.
Build and maintain a healthy, predictable pipeline and accurately forecast performance and revenue across all product and solution areas.
Sell a broad portfolio of IT hardware, software, licensing, and packaged technology solutions, identifying opportunities to increase customer spend and share of wallet.
Develop strong vendor and distribution relationships to identify opportunities, access competitive pricing, and leverage partner programmes.
Lead commercial negotiations, manage pricing discussions, and close profitable technology deals in line with business objectives.
Meet customers, partners, and attend industry events to drive both new and existing business opportunities.
Engage senior stakeholders including CIOs, IT Directors, IT Managers, and procurement decision-makers across multiple business units.
Identify opportunities for repeat purchases, account expansion, cross-selling, and long-term customer value.
Work with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately captured and orders are progressed efficiently through to fulfilment.
Skills & Experience
- 5 or more years of sales experience within a VAR or IT reseller environment.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and building strategic client relationships.
- Experience selling IT hardware, software, licensing, and packaged technology solutions to senior IT and procurement decision-makers.
- Strong understanding of the technology reseller landscape, including vendor relationships, distribution channels, and commercial pricing.
- Comfortable working across multiple technology product categories in customer conversations.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate and close profitable, high-value technology deals.
- Demonstrable experience in new business development, account growth, and managing strategic customer relationships.
- Clear communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills at senior stakeholder level.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently in a growth-focused environment.
- Ability to develop a strong sales pipeline, manage forecasting, and consistently deliver against revenue and margin targets.
Company Benefits
- Base salary £40,000 - £60,000 depending on experience, with uncapped commission of 10% to 25% and OTE of £200,000 or above.
